Critical CIA Report Wins the "Laugh of the Day"

Image hosted by Photobucket.comThe Washington Times reports that a "highly classified intelligence report produced for the new director of national intelligence concludes that U.S. spy agencies failed to recognize several key military developments in China in the past decade."

The best line from this story, which wins the CIA the "Laugh of the Day" award, is this one:

The report blames excessive secrecy on China's part for the failures...
Talk about whining! How unfair of the Chinese to not play the rules.....rules which, apparently, set limits on how much secrecy a nation is permitted to impose on its military research, construction, implementation and long-term strategic intentions!

I guess that, by the standards of espionage being practiced by our CIA intelligence officers, if military information on the People's Republic of China doen't appear in the pages of the Washington Post, then it must not be important enough to worry about.
