Jews: The People Europe (Still) Loves To Hate
The leading French newpaper LeMonde has been found guilty by a French court of publishing "racist defamation" against Israel and the Jewish people in a 2002 anti-semitic article.
The European media's response? Yawns.
Reuters and Agence France Presse released short articles in French but not in English. Associated Press did not bother to write an article at all. Meanwhile, it still remains "open season" against both Jews and Israel in the European press...including LeMonde, which has yet to print the public apology required by the court decision.
All the details, including dismaying evidence of how widespread and acceptable anti-semitism has become throughout Europe, can be found here (Wall Street Journal Online article, "J'Accuse," by Tom Gross).
