Kenya's "Dog" Baby's Mother Found (Maybe)

Police in Nairobi, Kenya, think they have found the mother of, perhaps, the most famous abandoned baby since Quasimodo. The baby was reportedly found by a dog (see previous post here) which carried her across a road and placed her among her newborn pups.

The suspected mother says, yes, she was pregnant, and, yes, she lives right around the corner from where the baby was found, and, yes, it is coincidental that the baby is suspected to have been born at almost exactly the same time as the woman claims she had a miscarriage...... One must wonder if a DNA test would be worth the trouble at this point.

The baby (now named, "Angel"), with hundreds of people around the world offering to adopts her, will most certainly grow up in a healthier, happier home than the one she was born into.

I say, let the "mother" go and save the money. According to today's CNN story, there are 18 other abandoned babies being cared for at the same hospital where Angel was taken. Will any of those offering to adopt Angel be willing to adopt one of those other babies? Or are they only interested in the one with the good press coverage? One can hope.....

Oh, and by the way, the dog now has a name....folks are calling her "Mkombozi" or "Savior." Many people from around the world have emailed, offering to adopt the dog, too. But Mary Adhiambo, who has now adopted the animal, says that she plans on keeping her for herself.

As a Christian, I can testify that it is a good thing to have a Savior!
