Kindergarten Bans Bibles

A mother in Philadelphia was not permitted to read from her child's "favorite book" during a visit to his public school kindergarten class. The reason given was that her child's "favorite book" was the Bible and it would be illegal for the Bible to be read to the children.

The same class, last December, read about Judaism and Hannukah and even made dreidels to play with. The making of Christmas decorations, however, was not permitted.

So....now the Christian-based Rutherford Institute is bringing a law suit against the school on behalf of the child's family. It will be interesting to see how the school district will wiggle out of this mess.
