Muslims to March Against Terrorism

John Hinderaker at Powerline has posted information concerning "Free Muslims March Against Terrorism" scheduled for May 14 in Washington D.C. A mix of some 20 Muslim and non-Muslim groups have (so far) endorsed the event. Organizers hope to raise that number to at least 100 organizations, churches, synagogues, mosques, temples, businesses, civic associations, student groups and clubs. They also, of course, invite anyone of any background to join them on the day of the march.

Their press release states what they hope to acheive:

Please join us and help us send a message to the terrorists and extremists that their days are numbered. Also, join us in sending a message to the people of the Middle East, the Muslim world and all people who seek freedom, democracy and peaceful coexistence that we support them.

Will this mark the beginning of a new trend? Or will only fringe, secular Muslims support such a demonstration? We can only pray that God, who can work for good in all things, will bless this event and, hopefully, many more like it in the future.

I am stopping short of endorsing this march personally due to lack of knowledge of its support base but, I must say, it certainly sounds better than anything else we have seen....which is nothing!
