Iran's Leadership Vows Destroy Israel and Then the United States & England & . . .
The heading for this post may seem a bit blunt but it is no less blunt than the words of Iran's President Ahmadinejad over the past few days.
Ahmadinejad:
Last month I speculated on the meaning of the Iranian President's selection of August 22 as the date for Iran's response to the world's call for it to halt its nuclear weapons program. As I have said before, either Ahmadinejad's words are empty bloviation or else there is something horribly substantial about them.
Think about it . . . When someone phones and tells you they are about to blow up the dam just upstream from your house you can choose to either believe them or not. But you would be a fool not to prepare for the worst "just in case."
The American news media and far too many of the American people and world leaders are acting like fools.
Ahmadinejad:
(Monday) Although the main solution is for the elimination of the Zionist regime, at this stage an immediate cease-fire must be implemented.
(Wednesday) When I see the behavior of America, England, and their other accomplices in recent days, I get the impression that they are preparing even greater crimes. I warn them: Know that the fire of the wrath of the peoples is about to erupt and overflow. If you do not put an end to your crimes, know that the ocean of the peoples will soon rage. When the peoples begin to move, they will drag everybody to the defendant's bench, and will remove them from the throne of power . . . Today, the Iranian people is the owner of nuclear technology. Those who want to talk with our people should know what people they are talking to. If some believe they can keep talking to the Iranian people in the language of threats and aggressiveness, they should know that they are making a bitter mistake. If they have not realized this by now, they soon will, but then it will be too late. Then they will realize that they are facing a vigilant, proud people. This is a frightening threat and one that has not been highlighted or reported by the American news media (which have been too distracted by the tragic but exaggerated bombing in Qana and the drunken comments of Mel Gibson).
