Pat Robertson's Ridiculous Religious Rhetoric Returns

On May 5, 2005 I posted a story entitled, "Pat Robertson Speaks for Himself, Unfortunately."

On August 22, 2005 I added a second post, "Pat Robertson Shames the Body of Christ."

Today I am forced to proclaim that Pat Robertson has done it again.

It seems that Dover, Pennsylvania, recently voted out eight school board members who had voted to allow the theory of evolution to be questioned in their schools and to suggest that students might want to read a book on the "theory" of "Intelligent Design." Roberts, apparently, felt that this was something worthy of the "wrath of God."

According to Reuters,

I'd like to say to the good citizens of Dover: if there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God, you just rejected Him from your city," Robertson said on his daily television show broadcast from Virginia, "The 700 Club."

"And don't wonder why He hasn't helped you when problems begin, if they begin. I'm not saying they will, but if they do, just remember, you just voted God out of your city. And if that's the case, don't ask for His help because he might not be there," he said.
So much for the Bible, which declares God to be "an ever-present help in time of trouble."

Note: Even though I am not certain that God has yet stated his position on either evolution or Intelligent Design I might speculate that God would likely take at least some small offense to a theory of Unintelligent Design!
