Why I Am No Longer Blogging On the Riots In France
When I began to blog on the French riots I did so for three reasons:
1. It was an important story that was not being covered by any of the American media;
2. The reporting that was being published (in France and the BBC) was uniformly silent about the fact that the rioters were overwhelmingly Muslim; and,
3. I had some personal insights and thoughts that I wanted to put down in writing.
Now that the story is being reported and commented on by everyone else I feel little need to repeat what is readily available elsewhere.
Then again, if something compels me to write a comment on this still-unfolding upheaval, I will feel free to do so. But don't stay up late or hold your breath!
