A Good Reason for Manned Space Flight

This evening my Wonderful Wife pondered all of the news coverage of the flight of the Space Shuttle Discover and came to this conclusion:

It seems that the entire purpose of the flight was to go into space and repair the shuttle so that it could come back again.

My wife and I do not always agree on everything....but on this one....!
