Austrailian Muslim Leaders Sponsor Anti-Terror Summit

According to today's Australian Herald, Muslim leaders in that country are organizing a "summit aimed at heading off extremist elements of the faith in Australia." They have even invited Australian Prime Minister John Howard (a bold critic of Islamic terrorism and strong backer of American policy in Iraq) to address the summit.

Why has the Council of American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which purports to represent American Muslims, not called for such a summit in our country? Why have they not invited President Bush to speak to their assembly?

Why, in fact, are they still considered to be a major representation of American Muslims in spite of having had several of their leaders indicted, charged and/or convicted of supporting Islamic terrorist groups?

Whereas the Australian Muslims have demanded that all literature promoting Islamic terrorism be removed from every mosque and bookstore in their country, the Council on American-Islamic Relation has not even acknowledged that such literature exists in American mosques!

Is their something wrong with this picture?
