"Romeo & Juliet" Fiction Becomes Fact In Florida
A family feud erupted into an exchange of gunfire after the teenage daughter of a "Riojas" began dating the teenage son of a "Soliz" (read the story here).
You know how hard it is for a teenage boy to work up the courage to ask a girl out on a date? I should think that this particular boy must have really, really, really wanted this date in a really, really, really big way! I mean, you thought meeting the Fokers was tough! In good dramatic fashion, of course, the boy was one of six people injured by the gunfire. "Jeez," he was not quoted as saying, "All we did was buy Slurpees at 7-11 after school. And it was 'Dutch Treat', too!"
Thus far their have been no reports of suicides.
Maybe we should find some Montagues or Capulets to tell these families to "cool it" lest some playwrite or other makes a fortune off of their looming tragedy. Even worse, someone might turn it into a Broadway musical, complete with "Jets" and "Sharks!"
