What's Wrong With This Picture? David Ludwig After His Arrest
I don't get it. Here's the story so far.
18-year old David Ludwig murders his girlfriend's parents in cold blood, takes his girlfriend at gunpoint, steals his parent's car and flees the scene.
After a massive manhunt he is finally found and immediately leads police in a high-speed chase, driving down the wrong side of a two-lane road, forcing oncoming cars off of the road and into ditches before being bumped by a police car, forced off of the road and into a tree.
Armed. Dangerous. Killer. Kidnapper. High speed chase. Resisting arrest.
And......do you see the photo? There he sits in the front seat of an unmarked car (it looks like a Red Ford Taurus) sitting next to someone that the photo caption describes as an "investigator." His window apears to be open and, with the photo enlarged, it seems to be possible that the door is not even locked.
Is he handcuffed? Are his feet chained? He is even still wearing his civilian clothes. Should he have the misfortune to cause the car to crash (into a tree...wouldn't that be ironic) and escape from the custody of an injured police officer, he would be all set to kick-off an entirely new manhunt.
18-years old or 30-years old I would have trussed this young man like a pig and stuffed him in the back seat of a police car. I cannot even imagine that police would treat a shoplifter with such comfort and laxity.
At least he's wearing his seatbelt. As they say, "Click-it or Ticket!"
