Re Democracy In The Middle East: NPR's Daniel Schoor Says Bush "May Have Had It Right"

Verteran commentator and NPR's Senior News Analyst, Daniel Schoor, today conceded that, in light of current events in the Middle East, President George W. Bush may have been correct in his position on the future of Middle East democracy.

The movements for democratic change in Egypt and Lebenon have happened shince the successful Iraqi election (one?) can speculate on whether that Iraq has served as a beacon light for democratic change in the Middle East. During the runup to the invasion of Iraq, President Bush said,

"A liberated Iraq can show the power of freedom to transform that vital region."

He may have had it right.
"Praise the Lord! I saw the light!"
